I bought Eye Bright from Benefit Cosmetics as it looks easy enough to use and I love quick fixes! All I have to do is to draw a few short strokes with this miraculous pink pencil around my eye area -specifically between the bridge of my nose, the inner and outer corners of my eye, as well as toward the end of my brows - to brighten up my tired eyes for that young, wide-awake look.
But alas. Despite the many raves by the ladies at Makeupalley, I didn’t notice any much difference when I used Benefit Eye Bright the way it is described. Perhaps it doesn’t work so well on my fair skin?
In fact, I almost gave it up until I decided to try the tip from Bobbi Brown, who said the best way to brighten up extremely dark under-eye dark circles is to start with a pink or peach toned corrector, then layer on with a yellow-toned concealer.
Because Benefit Eye Bright has a smooth, creamy texture and is a perfect shade of brightening pink, it helps to conceal my dark under-eye circles well. I draw a few strokes under my eyes, blend it lightly, layer with my Everyday Minerals concealer and voilà, the end result is better than what I’ve shown in my earlier entry use under-eye concealer to look younger!
On its own, this pink pencil doesn’t achieve anything for me but it works well as an under-eye concealer when layered with a yellow-toned concealer so I’m pretty much happy with it still.
Benefit Eye Bright is US$18 online. Additionally, I got the dual sharpener at US$5 because I learnt that most of Benefit’s pencils do not work with the usual sharpeners.
