Nourish scalp and cleanse the roots
The reason I purchased the Hop Beer Hair Wash is because of the claims that it can nourish the scalp, keep the roots healthy; thus help prevent hair loss as well as the greying. Having used this for at least over two months now, I can’t say for sure if it does anything for me. Perhaps it did some hair loss prevention but like I said, any effects are barely noticeable.
Beer for silky shiny hair
The Skin Food Hop Beer Wash is formulated with beer, copper peptide, vitamin-H and herbal extracts. And based on what I’ve read, copper peptide is said to improve the blood supply to damaged follicles, hence increasing melanin synthesis to keep hair from turning white and increasing subcutaneous fat below the scalp to produce thick healthy hair. While vitamin-H also known as Biotin, is key to the growth and maintenance of blood cells, sebaceous glands, skin, hair and nails. Beer, on the other hand is said to contribute to stronger, silky and shiny hair. This may hold some truth because while this shampoo isn’t entirely suitable for my greasy hair, it does make it look silky and shiny. Well, silky isn’t something suitable for me as it only serves to make my hair look even more limpy!
Minty pleasant herbal smell
I actually like the smell of this shampoo with the combination of herbal extracts. I can’t describe it but it is pretty plesant for me. Comes across with a tinge of peppermint scent and doesn’t smell like beer at the least.
Summary
One of the reasons I hardly attempt new shampoos is because of my specific hair condition. It’s difficult to find something suitable. So to be fair, Skin Food Hop Beer Hair Wash does not suit me but it may work for others. If you have normal hair and have specific concerns about preventing hair loss or hair whitening, then you might still want to give this a try. At least I don’t see more grey hair these days so it might be this shampoo working the effects!
